combining SMP and hair transplants
This client had undergone two successful hair transplants, 12 months apart, where hair was taken from the back of his head and transplanted into his crown and front hairline.
He has always had fine hair, lots of it but very fine.
He chose his hair transplant clinic well and was pleased with the service and results. Yet he still hadn’t quite achieved the level of density he was aiming for through hair transplant alone.
We applied scalp micropigmentation between his actual hair and over the entire transplant area, adding the appearance of density by camouflaging his scalp.
He’s so pleased with the results which have finally completed his look.

The British Muslim Council (BMC) represents the interests of Muslims in the UK. In 2018, the BMC issued a statement on SMP, advising that it is a matter of personal choice for Muslims whether or not to undergo the procedure.
The Fatwa Committee UK (Decision 12/3) states “baldness (or thinning hair) is like any other ailment. It is allowed for you to use any treatment to cure it whether that is colouring (via pigmentation) or transplanting.”
We have treated many Muslim clients with scalp micropigmentation. The combination of dark hair and darker skin tones creates a great basis for excellent results.
After losing hair from a young age, this client in his twenties was very pleased with his treatments “I can honestly say I would make the same decision a hundred times. My results have been excellent and my hair is looking much fuller from the crown.”

female pattern baldness
This beautiful and brave woman has experienced hair loss for nearly two decades, since her early thirties.
She’d seen several experts, undergone numerous tests and tried many different hair loss solutions without success.
“I’d been struggling for many years to find ways to improve or disguise my thinning hair and my confidence had really taken a hit.”
Camouflaging her scalp, using pigment to produce follicle like impressions, has created the appearance of density and reduces the contrast between hair and scalp.
“Scalp micropigmentation has given me the confidence not to wear my hair pieces anymore.”

female hairline restoration
This young lady had never been happy with her hairline, which she attributes to family genetics and inheriting her father’s hairline…
The results are an excellent example of how applying SMP to add more definition to a hairline can make a huge difference.
For this lovely client, it gave her a confidence boost and meant she was able to start styling her hair in ways she wasn’t comfortable with doing so before.
“I could not recommend Louise enough! So far I’ve only had 2/3 treatments and I already feel so much more confident and able to style my hair in ways I would have never been comfortable with before! Along with the amazing job she did, I was also made to feel so at ease during the appointment as she included me in every decision along the way and it was a painless treatment 🙂 overall 10/10 I couldn’t be more pleased with the results!”

discoid lupus
Client was diagnosed with discoid lupus on her scalp also known as scarring lupus or cutaneous lupus. Discoid lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes a severe rash on the skin. It gets its name from the coin-shaped lesions it produces and can affect the scalp, causing permanent scarring with hair loss (alopecia).
After analysing her scalp to determine her condition was not currently active, carrying out patch tests and speaking with specialists we were happy to proceed with her first scalp micropigmentation treatment and the results speak for themselves.
The client is delighted with her SMP and relieved she no longer needs to apply hair fibres every morning to camouflage the patches on her scalp. In her words; “Toppix can be visible when it’s really hot and when it is the product looks awful and really shiny”.
PLEASE NOTE: early recognition and treatment of discoid lupus can significantly improve the prognosis, so if you think you are experiencing similar then please don’t delay in contacting your GP asking for a referral dermatologist.
Scarring conditions are not easy to treat and scalp micropigmentation is not always possible for some with these conditions. Each case is treated individually.
